Queen Samantha était une artiste disco des années 1970 produite par le musicien parisien Harry Chalkitis. Gloria Brooks, une chanteuse de Chicago, qui fut la chanteuse principale de nombreux enregistrements de Chalkitis. Toutes les chansons ont été co-écrites par Chalkitis et sa femme Myriam (à l’exception d’une version de couverture graphique de « The Letter », à l’origine par The Box Tops).

Chalkitis a enregistré les morceaux alors qu’il vivait à Paris, et les disques ont été publiés sur Atoll Records, un label français.

Aux États-Unis, les disques ont été publiés par le label Marlin de Henry Stone. Le plus grand succès de Queen Samantha fut « Mama Rue ». Le single « Take a Chance » accompagné de « Sweet San Francisco » fut publié par TK Records et remixé par Steve Thompson et Michael Arato.

Parmi les autres singles, citons « Funky Celebration » dans les années 1980, « Give Me Action » en 1982 et « Close Your Eyes » en 1983 édité par le label California’s Megatone.

Queen Samantha was a 1970s disco artist produced by the Parisian musician Harry Chalkitis. Gloria Brooks, a singer from Chicago, was the lead vocalist on many of Chalkitis’ recordings. All of the songs were co-written by Chalkitis and his wife Myriam (except a charting cover version of « The Letter », originally by The Box Tops). Chalkitis recorded the tracks while living in Paris, and the records were released on Atoll Records, a French label. In the U.S., the records were released by Henry Stone’s Marlin label.

Queen Samantha’s biggest hit was « Mama Rue ». The single « Take a Chance » backed with « Sweet San Francisco » was released on TK Records and remixed by Steve Thompson and Michael Arato. Other charting singles include 1980’s « Funky Celebration », 1982’s « Give Me Action », and 1983’s « Close Your Eyes » on California’s Megatone label.
