True Faith est le quatorzième single de New Order, coécrit et coproduit par le groupe et Stephen Hague. C’est le premier single de New Order depuis leur premier album Ceremony à être publié au Royaume-Uni sous forme de deux singles distincts. Le deuxième single contient deux remix de True Faith par Shep Pettibone. Les deux versions du 12″ inch (et aussi du 7″ inch édité) incluent la chanson 1963. True Faith est l’une des chansons les plus populaires de New Order.
Le single a atteint la 4e place au Royaume-Uni lors de sa sortie originale en 1987. Aux États-Unis, « True Faith » est devenu le premier single de New Order à figurer dans le Hot 100, atteignant finalement la 32e place.
Un remix de « True Faith » en single 12″ et un CD single sont sortis en 1994, et un autre remix de « True Faith » en single 12″ et un CD single sont sortis en 2001. Le remix de 1994 s’est classé au Royaume-Uni à la 9e place.
Ce titre fait également partie de la bande originale du film « Bright Lights, Big City » avec entre autres l’acteur Michael J. Fox sorti en 1988.

« True Faith » is the fourteenth single by New Order, co-written and co-produced by the band and Stephen Hague. It was the first New Order single since their debut « Ceremony » to be issued in the UK as two separate 12″ singles. The second 12″ single features two remixes of « True Faith » by Shep Pettibone. Both versions of the 12″ (and also the edited 7″) include the song « 1963 ». « True Faith » is one of New Order’s most popular songs.
The single peaked at No. 4 in the United Kingdom on its original release in 1987. In the United States, « True Faith » became New Order’s first single to chart in the Hot 100, ultimately peaking at No. 32.
A « True Faith » remix 12″ single and CD single were released in 1994, and another « True Faith » remix 12″ single and CD single were released in 2001. The 1994 remix charted in the UK at No. 9.
This title is also part of the soundtrack of the film « Bright Lights, Big City » with among others the actor Michael J. Fox released in 1988.
