Mark Boyce:

À la fin des années 1980, Mark Boyce, un jeune mannequin et chanteur australien, sort trois singles issus de son album All over the world : Hey little girl et Questa sera qui furent deux gros tubes et Classic story of love qui n’a pas vraiment marché.

Icehouse :

Icehouse est un groupe de rock australien, formé à Sydney en 1977 sous le nom de Flowers. Initialement connu dans son pays natal pour son style pub rock, le groupe a ensuite connu un succès grand public grâce à sa new wave et sa synth-pop, et a atteint le Top 10 des singles aux États-Unis, en Europe et au Royaume-Uni. Le pilier de Flowers et d’Icehouse est Iva Davies (auteure-compositrice-interprète, productrice, guitare, basse, claviers, hautbois) qui fournit des musiciens supplémentaires selon les besoins. Le nom « Icehouse », adopté en 1981, vient d’un vieil appartement froid où vivait Davies et de l’étrange bâtiment de l’autre côté de la rue, peuplé de gens itinérants.

La musique est un langage universel qui ne s’interprète qu’avec le cœur et la passion. Pas besoin d’école pour la comprendre car la musique se ressent dans les tréfonds de notre être et de notre âme de façon innée. Le musique est une clef qui ouvre les portes vers des couleurs inattendues, des sentiments parfois jamais ressentis. Les créateurs de musique dont je suis un modeste représentant vous offrent une clef de sol, le passeport pour un voyage vers un univers fait de sons et de lumières.

Mark Boyce:

In the late 1980s, Mark Boyce, a young Australian model and singer, released three singles from his album All Over the World: « Hey Little Girl » and « Questa Sera » which were both big hits, and « Classic Story of Love » which didn’t really do well.

Icehouse :

Icehouse is an Australian rock band, formed in Sydney in 1977 under the name Flowers. Initially known in their homeland for their pub rock style, the band later achieved mainstream success with their new wave and synth-pop, achieving Top 10 singles in the US, Europe, and the UK. The mainstay of both Flowers and Icehouse is Iva Davies (singer-songwriter, producer, guitar, bass, keyboards, oboe), who provides additional musicians as needed. The name « Icehouse, » adopted in 1981, comes from a cold old apartment where Davies lived and the strange building across the street, populated by transients.

Music is a universal language that can only be interpreted with heart and passion. No need for school to understand it because music is felt in the depths of our being and our soul innately. Music is a key that opens doors to unexpected colors, feelings sometimes never before felt. The music creators of which I am a modest representative offer you a treble clef, the passport for a journey to a universe made of sounds and lights.

Un nouveau monde / A new world

Il n’y aura ni sauveur ni nouveau prophète car notre civilisation  est allé trop loin, elle c’est  enfoncée dans les ténèbres sans possibilité de retour et ce, avec notre consentement, notre libre arbitre et notre déni. L’abcès doit être crevé et cela se fera au prix de nombreuses vies, dans la souffrance et la peine.

Beaucoup ont été appelés mais peu seront choisis.

Film « La belle verte » Remerciments:

Je tenais à remercier du fond du cœur Coline Serreau qui a produit ce film  et qui permet sa mise en ligne. Je voulais également remercier tous les acteurs techniciens qui ont permis par leur travail, la réalisation de ce chef d’œuvre, de cette fable des temps modernes.. Merci également à la distribution pour cet acte de Bravoure, cette gentillesse et cette confiance. Et merci à vous lecteurs qui découvrirez.

Réalisé comme projet de fin d’études du MOPA, Hybrids est un court-métrage fascinant par la qualité de sa réalisation et le sujet qu’il aborde avec créativité : un océan si pollué que les poissons sont devenus des déchets.

Plus qu’une réalité, la pollution des océans est devenue un terrible fléau pour la faune animale qui voit des espèces disparaître au fil des années. À titre d’information, plus de 634 000 kilos de déchets sont déversés chaque seconde dans les océans, soit 20 milliards de tonnes de déchets par an !

“Hybrids”

The mind-blowing short film where fish have merged with waste.

Produced as a MOPA graduation project, Hybrids is a fascinating short film for the quality of its production and the subject it tackles with creativity : an ocean so polluted that fish have become garbage.

More than a reality, the pollution of the oceans has become a terrible scourge for animal fauna, which has seen species disappear over the years. For your information, more than 634,000 kilos of waste are dumped into the oceans every second, or 20 billion tonnes of waste per year !

Quand George Sand décrivait la canicule en 1870.

« Un été que je n’ai jamais vu, que je ne croyais pas possible dans nos climats tempérés: des journées ou le thermomètre  à l’ombre montait à 45°C. plus un brin d’herbe, olus une fleur au 1er. juillet, les arbres jaunis perdant leurs feuilles, la terre fendue s’ouvrant comme pour nous ensevelir, l’effroi de manquer d’eau d’un jour à l’autre… »

George Sand décrivait la canicule en France le 15 septembre 1870 dans « Le journal d’un voyageur pendant la guerre. »

Les climatologues réchauffistes n’ont apparemment jamais lu Georges Sand, qui en 1870, se plaignait de températures qui atteignaient 45 degrés à l’ombre.
Or, les émissions de CO2 humain à l’époque étaient faibles.

La première cause de réchauffement climatique est la déforestation, qui a commencé bien avant les années 1800.

Qui était George Sand:

George Sand, pseudonyme d’Aurore Dupin, devenue baronne Dudevant par son mariage, était une romancière, dramaturge, épistolière, critique littéraire, journaliste et peintre française. Née le 1er juillet 1804 à Paris, elle mourut le 8 juin 1876 au château de Nohant-Vic et fut inhumée en 1870. Elle compte parmi les écrivains les plus prolifiques, avec plus de 70 romans et 50 recueils d’œuvres diverses, comprenant nouvelles, contes, pièces de théâtre et textes politiques.

When George Sand described the heatwave in 1870.

« A summer I’ve never seen, one I didn’t think possible in our temperate climates: days when the thermometer in the shade reached 45°C, not a blade of grass, not a flower by July 1st, the yellowing trees losing their leaves, the cracked earth opening as if to bury us, the terror of running out of water from one day to the next… »

George Sand described the heatwave in France on September 15, 1870 in « The Journal of a Traveler During the War. »

Climate alarmists have apparently never read George Sand, who in 1870 complained of temperatures reaching 45 degrees Celsius in the shade.
Yet, human-caused CO2 emissions at the time were low.

The primary cause of global warming is deforestation, which began well before the 1800s.

Who was George Sand?

George Sand, pen name of Aurore Dupin, and by marriage Baroness Dudevant, was a French novelist, playwright, letter writer, literary critic, journalist, and painter, born on July 1, 1804, in Paris and died on June 8, 1876, at the Château de Nohant-Vic. She was buried in 1870. She is among the most prolific writers, with over 70 novels and 50 volumes of miscellaneous works to her credit, including short stories, tales, plays, and political texts.

En Europe, l’industrie de l’automobile n’est pas au mieux de sa forme, en 2016 la musique de Vitalic fut utilisée pour illustrer une pub de la marque Peugeot et contrairement la marque, la musique se porte plutôt bien.

In Europe, the automobile industry is not in the best of shape, in 2016 Vitalic’s music was used to illustrate an advert for the Peugeot brand and unlike the brand, the music is doing well.

Rappel.

« Shooting Stars » est une chanson du duo électronique australien Bag Raiders. La chanson a été initialement présentée sur l’EP du groupe, Turbo Love, en 2008. L’année suivante, la chanson est sortie en tant que single de leur premier album éponyme Bag Raiders, et a atteint le numéro 18 dans le compte à rebours Triple J Hottest 100 de 2009. Bien que la chanson soit sortie et ait été cartographiée en Australie en 2009, elle n’y n’y a atteint son apogée qu’en 2013. Elle a attiré l’attention internationale en février 2017.  La chanson a atteint la 11e place du classement Dance/Electronic Songs de Billboard et la 9e place du classement Bubbling Under de Billboard cette année-là. Les voix de la chanson sont interprétées par Rhys Taylor.

« Shooting Stars » is a song by Australian electronic duo Bag Raiders. The song was originally featured on the band’s EP, Turbo Love, in 2008. The year afterwards, the song was released as a single from their eponymous debut album Bag Raiders, and reached number 18 in the Triple J Hottest 100 countdown of 2009. Although the song was released and charted in Australia in 2009, the song did not reach its peak there until 2013. It received international attention in February 2017 when the song became a part of a popular internet meme, thus cementing the track’s legacy as a sleeper hit. The song reached number 11 on Billboard‘s Dance/Electronic Songs chart and number 9 on the Billboard Bubbling Under chart that year. The vocals on the song are performed by Rhys Taylor.

La grenouille qui cuit à petit feu

La métaphore de la grenouille qui ne savait pas qu’elle était cuite.

Rappel:

Une grenouille nage dans une marmite remplie d’eau. Un feu est allumé sous la marmite de façon à faire monter progressivement la température. La grenouille  nage sans s’apercevoir de rien. La température continue de grimper, l’eau est maintenant tiède. La grenouille s’agite moins mais ne s’affole pas pour autant. La température de l’eau continue de grimper. L’eau est cette fois vraiment chaude,  la grenouille commence a trouver cela désagréable, elle s’affaiblie mais supporte la chaleur. La température continue de monter, jusqu’au moment où la grenouille va tout simplement finir par cuire et mourir. Si la même grenouille avait été plongée directement dans l’eau à 50 degrés, elle aurait immédiatement donné le coup de patte adéquat qui l’aurait éjectée aussitôt de la marmite. Cette expérience montre que, lorsqu’un changement s’effectue d’une manière suffisamment lente, il échappe à la conscience et ne suscite la plupart de temps aucune réaction, aucune opposition, aucune révolte.

« Cette thèse se fonde sur l’idée que si l’on plongeait subitement une grenouille dans de l’eau chaude, elle s’échapperait d’un bond. Alors que si on la plongeait dans l’eau froide et qu’on portait très progressivement l’eau à ébullition, la grenouille s’engourdirait ou s’habituerait à la température et finirait ébouillantée. »

Bien que l’expérience soit controversée et que la thèse soit sujette à discussion, la parabole de la grenouille qui ne savait pas qu’elle était cuite traduit le phénomène d’habituation et de passivité dans un environnement qui se dégrade progressivement au point de mettre sa propre vie en péril. C’est donc une métaphore qui est souvent utilisée pour dénoncer la passivité de l’homme et inciter à l’éveil des consciences.

The slow cooking frog

The metaphor of the frog that didn’t know it was cooked.

Reminder:

A frog swims in a pot filled with water. A fire is lit under the pot so as to gradually raise the temperature. The frog swims without noticing anything. The temperature continues to climb, the water is now lukewarm. The frog is less agitated but does not panic. The water temperature continues to rise. The water is really hot this time, the frog starts to find it unpleasant, it weakens but bears the heat. The temperature continues to rise, until the frog will simply cook and die. If the same frog had been plunged directly into water at 50 degrees, it would have immediately given the right kick which would have immediately ejected it from the pot. This experience shows that, when a change takes place in a sufficiently slow way, it escapes consciousness and most of the time does not arouse any reaction, any opposition, any revolt.

« This thesis is based on the idea that if we suddenly plunged a frog into hot water, it would jump out. Whereas if we plunged it into cold water and carried very gradually the water to a boil, the frog would go numb or get used to the temperature and end up scalded. »

Although the experiment is controversial and the thesis is subject to discussion, the parable of the frog which did not know that it was cooked translates the phenomenon of habituation and passivity in an environment which gradually deteriorates to the point of putting his own life in danger. It is therefore a metaphor that is often used to denounce the passivity of man and encourage the awakening of consciences.

Jeff Wayne’s Musical Version of The War of the Worlds est un double album studio du musicien, compositeur et producteur de disques britannique d’origine américaine Jeff Wayne, sorti le 9 juin 1978 par CBS Records. Il s’agit d’un album musical adapté du roman de science-fiction La Guerre des mondes de H. G. Wells dans un style d’opéra rock avec un groupe de rock, un orchestre, un narrateur et des leitmotivs pour porter l’histoire et les paroles qui expriment les sentiments des différents personnages. L’album présente les artistes invités David Essex, Justin Hayward, Phil Lynott, Chris Thompson et Julie Covington, avec l’acteur Richard Burton comme narrateur.

L’album est devenu un succès commercial au Royaume-Uni, débutant à la 5e place du UK Albums Chart. Il a remporté deux Ivor Novello Awards, dont un pour Wayne et le parolier principal Gary Osborne pour la meilleure œuvre instrumentale ou orchestrale populaire. L’album a connu une popularité durable depuis sa sortie et a été acclamé par la critique. Il s’est vendu à plus de 2,7 millions d’exemplaires au Royaume-Uni et à environ 15 millions d’exemplaires dans le monde. It is an album musical adapted from the science-fiction novel The War of the Worlds by H. G. Wells in a rock opera style with a rock band, orchestra, narrator, and leitmotifs to carry the story and lyrics that express the feelings of the various characters. The album features guest artists David Essex, Justin Hayward, Phil Lynott, Chris Thompson, and Julie Covington, with actor Richard Burton as the narrator.

Starmania est un opéra-rock franco-québécois composé par Michel Berger sur un livret de Luc Plamondon sorti en 1979, cette chanson nous mettait en garde contre les dérives d’une société sectaire, basée sur le consumérisme et la compétition.

Note de la rédaction:

Lorsque l’on regarde avec du recul notre évolution sur ces 50 dernières années, on ne peut que frissonner d’effroi quant à ce qui nous attend les prochaines 50.

En décembre 1978, Bernard Pichon reçoit, en exclusivité et en avant-première dans son émission Les Oiseaux de nuit, les créateurs et les principaux interprètes de l’opéra-rock français Starmania. La chanteuse québécoise Fabienne Thibeault, qui incarne le personnage de Marie-Jeanne, débute cette soirée exceptionnelle en interprétant la chanson Le monde est stone.
