C’est au sortir d’une forêt sombre et ténébreuse que s’offrit à nos yeux ébahis, une plaine faite de lumière de couleurs et de cristaux étincelants. Il nous était désormais possible de nous envoler tout en nous fondant dans les éléments; nous avions atteint Adiemus, le but ultime.

C’est en 1978 que sorti un peu comme un lapin du chapeau d’un magicien ce titre « Galactic reaction. » Alors que la musique électronique émergeait frénétiquement avec des groupes comme SpAce, Tangerine Dream, Kraftwerk, Jean-Michel Jarre etc… malgré le succès de ce titre, le groupe sorti un album puis se sépara pour retomber dans l’oubli.

Dans les années 1980, la recherche musicale du groupe va de la salsa au disco, avec une forte influence jazzy et en particulier des big bands.

Toto Coelo est un groupe anglais crée par le producteur Barry Blue et composé d’Anita Mahadevan, Lacey Bond, Lindsey Danvers, Ros Holness et Sheen Doran.

Groupe qui restera principalement dans l’histoire musicale des années 80 pour l’énormissime single « I eat cannibals » sorti en 1982. Single qui connaîtra un joli succès au niveau planétaire cette année là.

Vibrant homage

Patrick Cowley (1950-1982) fait partie de ces pionniers sans veine dont l’histoire officielle de la musique électronique rechigne encore à reconnaître l’apport. Sans doute parce que le domaine musical dans lequel il avait choisi d’innover – le disco électronique – ambitionnait en premier lieu d’être validé dans le milieu très spécifique des clubs gays californiens du début des années 80. Sûrement qu’il est décédé beaucoup trop tôt, du sida, à une époque où on l’appelait encore «peste gay», pour perpétuer sa carrière et ses inventions.

Patrick Cowley (1950-1982) was one of those pioneers without luck, whose official history of electronic music is still reluctant to recognize its contribution. Probably because the musical field in which he had chosen to innovate – electronic disco – first sought to be validated in the very specific milieu of Californian gay clubs in the early 80s. Surely he died a lot too early, from AIDS, at a time when it was still called « gay plague », to perpetuate his career and his inventions.

Fără îndoială, pentru că domeniul muzical în care alesese să inoveze – discoteca electronică – aspira inițial să fie validat în mediul foarte specific al cluburilor gay din California la începutul anilor 80. prea devreme, de la SIDA, într-un moment în care era încă numit „ciuma gay”, pentru a-și perpetua cariera și invențiile.

Les années fastes de la musique :

En une décennie et demi, la musique fit un pas de géant en créativité et c’est à partir du début des années 80 que cette créativité  se fit le plus ressentir avec notamment l’arrivée du groupe : “Lime”

Quelques notes, une boîte à rythme, un peu d’imagination deux ou trois synthétiseurs, un studio d’enregistrement, une bonne maison d’édition et le tour était joué.

La maison Polydor avait flairé le bon poisson avec ce duo : Denis et Denise Lepage qui incarnaient le groupe : “Lime” car ce furent des millions de disques vendus dans le monde. Ils furent incontournable dans toutes les discothèques branchées des années 80 et aujourd’hui encore, beaucoup d’artistes s’inspirent de leur musique en espérant reproduire le même succès.

Voici quatre titres:

• “Your Love” qui propulsa le groupe sur le devant de la scène.
• “Angel eyes (Dub version) qui à mon avis fait partie de leurs meilleures  réalisations.
• Sensual sensation.
• Agent 406.

Ce groupe, originaire de Montréal au Québec, actif dans les années 1980, a produit des chansons disco (Your love, Unexpected lovers, Babe We’re Gonna Love Tonight, Angel Eyes…). Le son utilisé est de style électronique », créé à partir de boites à rythmes (Roland TR-808) et de synthétiseurs analogiques (Roland TB-303, Roland Jupiter 8, Roland juno 60).

A few notes, a rhythm machine, a little imagination two or three synthesizers, a recording studio, a good publishing house and voila.

Laissant dernière lui un héritage musical colossal et un style excentrique inimitable. Retour sur la carrière haute en couleur mais au dénouement tragique du kid de Minneapolis.

« Prince était sans aucun doute un original et quelqu’un d’unique », a dit de lui Aretha Franklin. Anticonformiste, rebelle convaincu, artiste complet et faiseur de tubes au style dandy extravagant, Prince s’est fait une place de choix dans l’industrie musicale – bien qu’il en refusât les codes – et dans l’histoire. Décédé d’une overdose médicamenteuse le 21 avril 2016, le souverain de la pop restera à jamais une légende.

The Flirts au fost un grup de concept de proiect format de Bobby „O” Orlando pentru a-și conduce spectacolele ca artist, muzician și compozitor. Grupul era format din Orlando și avea o listă rotativă de cântărețe și modele de sesiune. Sub numele The Flirts, Orlando a produs hituri „Passion”, „Danger”, „Helpless” și „Jukebox (Don’t Put Another Dime)”.

Orlando a conceput ideea pentru Flirts, a scris melodiile, a cântat la instrumente și a produs piesele. Apoi a audiat fetele pentru a fi chipurile grupului. Orlando a apelat adesea la serviciile unor cântăreți profesioniști de sesiune pentru a cânta vocea feminină pentru piese, deoarece majoritatea interpreților au fost pregătiți ca dansatori, modele sau actrițe. The Flirts a trecut prin numeroase schimbări în linie și cu fiecare lansare de album și turneu, unele fete au plecat, în timp ce altele au rămas. Orlando a lansat șase albume de studio sub numele The Flirts din 1982 până în 1992 și numeroase single-uri.

« Passion » is a 1982 single from Flirts, a New York-based female vocal trio. Bobby Orlando wrote and produced the song.

The Flirts were a project concept group formed by Bobby « O » Orlando to front his performances as an artist, musician and songwriter. The group consisted of Orlando and featured a revolving roster of female session singers and models. Under The Flirts name, Orlando churned out hits « Passion », « Danger », « Helpless » and « Jukebox (Don’t Put Another Dime) ».

Orlando conceived the idea for the Flirts, wrote the songs, played the instruments, and produced the tracks. He then auditioned girls to be the faces of the group. Orlando often called in the services of professional session singers to sing the female vocals for the tracks because most of the performers were trained as dancers, models or actresses. The Flirts went through numerous lineup changes, and with every album release and tour, some girls left while others stayed. Orlando released six studio albums under The Flirts name from 1982 to 1992 and numerous singles.
