Philip Oakey
Philip Oakey (né le 2 octobre 1955) est un musicien anglais qui est le chanteur, auteur-compositeur et co-fondateur du groupe de synth-pop The Human League. Outre la Human League, il a mené une longue carrière musicale solo et a collaboré avec de nombreux autres artistes et producteurs.
Oakey était l’un des artistes musicaux les plus visuellement distinctifs du début des années 1980. Au plus fort de leur succès, Human League a sorti l’album studio Dare (1981), certifié triple platine, et Oakey a co-écrit et chanté le single « Don’t You Want Me », vendu à plusieurs millions d’exemplaires, un single n°1 dans les deux catégories. Aux États-Unis et au Royaume-Uni, où il reste le 28e single le plus vendu de tous les temps. Oakey est le chanteur principal de Human League depuis plus de 40 ans. Avec le groupe, il a vendu plus de 20 millions de disques dans le monde. Il continue d’enregistrer et de se produire à l’international.

Philip Oakey (born 2 October 1955) is an English musician who is the lead singer, songwriter, and co-founder of the synth-pop band the Human League. Aside from the Human League, he has enjoyed an extensive solo music career and has collaborated with numerous other artists and producers.
Oakey was among the most visually distinctive music artists of the early 1980s. At the height of their success, the Human League released the triple platinum-certified studio album Dare (1981) and Oakey co-wrote and sang the multimillion-selling single « Don’t You Want Me », a #1 single in both the US and UK, where it remains the 28th-highest-selling single of all time. Oakey has been lead vocalist of the Human League for more than 40 years. With the band, he has sold more than 20 million records worldwide. He continues recording and performing internationally.
